Raking Leaves

The wind blew down all the rest of the leaves. I have to rake the leaves up and bring them to the compost pile. The compost pile makes really good dirt.

      My family did all of our leaf raking last weekend. It was fun, except my little brother and sister got to use the rakes and I had to carry the full bags of leaves!! I hope you had more help with your leaves than I did.

        Dad helped us a lot. He made huge piles for us to jump in. We had to clean up our piles and bring them to the compost pile. It was hard work.

          Raking leaves is always hard work, but it is good work because the grass always looks so nice after. Plus you get nice and dirty and the compost helps plants and trees grow for next year!

            Compost is very important. We had a pumpkin plant growing in our compost pile this year. We still do not know where it came from. It was cool.
